How to install Ubuntu 9.10 in VirtualBox


In this video I show you how to install the latest Version of Ubuntu inside of VirtualBox. I also show you how to make the operating system run a lot better by adjusting the settings and installing the guest additions. It includes library management, format conversion, news feeds to ebook conversion as well as e-book reader sync features. Calibre is primarily a ebook cataloging program. It manages your ebook collection for you. It is designed around the concept of the logical book, ie a single entry in the database that may correspond to ebooks in several formats. It also upports conversion from a dozen different ebook formats to LRF and EPUB. A graphical interface to the conversion software can be accessed easily by just clicking the “Convert E-books” button. Supported input formats are: MOBI, LIT, PRC, EPUB, ODT, HTML, CBR, CBZ, RTF, TXT, PDF and LRS. Calibre has a modular device driver design that makes adding support for different e-reader devices easy. At the moment, it has support for the SONY PRS 500/505/700 and the iPhone (with the stanza reader software). Syncing supports updating metadata on the device from metadata in the library and the creation of collections on the device based on the tags defined in the library view. If an book has more than one format available, calibre automatically chooses the best format when uploading to the device. Howto Install Vmware Player 3 on Ubuntu 9.10


Vmware player free virtualisation software from VMware. Vmware player 3.0 no longer restricted to just powering on and running a pre-built virtual machine; it has the ability to create virtual machines like its big brother, Workstation. While it may not pack the same punch as VMware Workstation, it has graduated to a new level of usefulness. In addition to being able to create new virtual machines, Player 3.0 also lets users edit the virtual machine settings, supports Microsoft Windows 7 as a guest and host platform, and provides a new virtual machine library interface. “Karmic Koala”, or the newest release of Ubuntu, is, well, the newest release of Ubuntu. It has some graphical upgrades and a faster boot time. The Add/Remove Programs had a small makeover.
